The itinerary for Wednesday: Kayaking, Raft Building, Abseiling and Archery.

The raft building activity was extremely beneficial in terms of team building exercises. Our group was, again, split into 2 groups and our task was to build a raft - pretty self-explanatory. We were provided with long and short straps, long and short logs, and as many barrels as we could fit on our raft. Each group had to design their own raft before building it and testing it out by putting enough faith in our designs to clamber on the rafts and paddle to the centre of a large lake. One team used the triangle as their main design, (as the triangle is the strongest shape), securing it inside their square frame and attaching 4 barrels in and around the structure. The second team took a more basic design and used a simple rectangular frame with 2 logs running down the middle to secure their 4 barrels in place. The 2 teams had a race and, even though the triangle group reached the finish line first, let’s just say the people in that team didn’t make it off the raft completely dry…

Archery was our evening activity. We all had the chance to go to Fairthorne Manor's sportshall and try to hit the target! It was a lot of fun and we had a great time getting to know more people from the other teams. The instructors at the Manor were also really friendly and it was just great to chat and get to now them.
